The College Drama Group:

The drama group has had much success since it started in 2004, which began with their fantastic first play “Potty Enders.” Their next play was the hilarious “Top of the Pops Potter” that was a mixture of music and gags! The groups forthcoming play will sure to be the best yet, “Scream meets Dirty Dancing,” a murderous, amusing plot that will have the audience in stitches!

Work experience: Phillip Judge

My Placement at Worksop Library.
My placement was at the Library in Worksop. They have security systems in the entrance they demagnetize books so people can’t take books out without permission. I did very similar jobs all week but I didn’t moan because these jobs have to be done. I did discarding of books this is when books have to be taken off the system and put up for sale.
I really enjoyed my placement at the library and I would like to go back.

My Placement at Eastwood House
My placement was at Eastwood House in Clowne, this is the head office for Norsaca. When I arrived at head office I had to sign in on the board and sign out when I left.
One of my first jobs was to check that there was plenty of tea and coffee. Other jobs I had to do were photocopy important documents, set up new files for different sections of Norsaca.
My placement at Eastwood House was ok but I had lots to do and at times I did find it stressful.

My Placement at Tesco in Clowne
My placement was at Tesco Supermarket in Clowne. I had to use the staff entrance and intercom system to get into Tesco, this made me feel like a proper member of staff. I also signed my self in and collected my badge.
I did lots of jobs on my placement they included, packing up cages ready for unpacking on the shop floor, I filled shelves, helped customers find things and I also helped customers pack there bags.
I enjoyed my placement at Tesco and I would go back, I really got on well with staff and customers.

Makaton was designed to develop communication, language and literacy and today is a popular and widely-used communication programme, which uses signs, symbols and speech and can help children and adults to develop communication skills and overcome their communication difficulties.
The training started in October 2005, provided by Laurence (WestNottinghamshireCollege) . All the tutors and the staff are involved.
