New units arrived last week....

Independent Living Skills Room

A new Independent Living Skills room has been created at Whitegates College. The students will learn new skills in cookery and domestic hygiene, as well as using the room for relaxation and to get away from the busy dinning room at lunch times!

Office Skills Room

Here at Whitegates College we have recently introduced a new Office Skills Room. The students are able to use lots of new equipment for example, computers, photocopier, laminators and an interactive '' smart'' board. The students have enjoyed acquiring their new office skills and are putting them to good use!!

''Dirty Dancing Meet Screen''

On Friday we had a first coffee morning for parents, it was extremely successful! The drama group put on a fabulous performance of their new play ''Dirty Dancing Meets Scream'' which everyone throughly enjoyed!

Activities Week at Whitegates!

This week is activity week at college, so we do not have lessons! We visit different places like Meadowhall, Retford Museum, and Rotherdam, we also go on long walks, and have Movie afternoons at college. Today we have learnt how to use the new interactive Smart Board and that was great fun and educational, I can not wait to use it again!

The Christmas Party!

At college we celebrate the end of term with a big Christmas party. In the morning we played games and watched the Drama group’s new play, and then we had a huge buffet, which was delicious! After lunch we had a brilliant disco and then watched a movie on DVD, it was a fantastic day for all!

The College Drama Group:

The drama group has had much success since it started in 2004, which began with their fantastic first play “Potty Enders.” Their next play was the hilarious “Top of the Pops Potter” that was a mixture of music and gags! The groups forthcoming play will sure to be the best yet, “Scream meets Dirty Dancing,” a murderous, amusing plot that will have the audience in stitches!
